Google settlements

Google, the search and advertising company owned by Alphabet, has settled more consumer cases than any other company we track — most of them about collecting data people believed was private. The amounts are large but the per-person payouts vary enormously: the $700 million Play Store antitrust settlement paid most people a minimum of $2 automatically, Illinois face-grouping claimants received about $95 each, and the Incognito mode case paid consumers nothing at all because it was settled for changes to Google's practices rather than money. Each settlement below shows what it actually paid and whether anything is still claimable.

Closed Google settlements — payout status

The claim window has closed for these, but the questions have not: each page explains what the settlement paid, when checks went out, and how to tell a real payout notice from a scam.
