How we verify settlements

Eligible U.S. residents notified about Autobell’s April 2024 data incident can claim a $45 cash payment or reimbursement for documented losses and time, subject to a combined $5,000 cap. File online or mail a claim postmarked by November 12, 2026.

Two years of three-bureau credit monitoring are also available, whether or not you request money. The $45 payment cannot be combined with loss or time reimbursement; the $5,000 maximum is not an automatic payment.

The proposed settlement concerns a cyberattack between April 1 and April 7, 2024. Autobell denies wrongdoing, and final court approval is still required.

Who qualifies

  • The class includes natural persons residing in the United States who were provided notice that their personal information was involved in Autobell’s April 1–7, 2024 data incident. Visiting an Autobell car wash alone does not establish eligibility.
  • Excluded are Autobell and its officers and directors; people who timely and validly opted out; the judge evaluating the settlement; and people found criminally guilty of initiating, causing, aiding or abetting the incident, or who pleaded no contest to such a charge.
  • For reimbursement, losses must be unreimbursed and supported by documents showing they were more likely than not caused by the incident. Time claims must describe incident-related tasks and carry the required sworn certification.

How to file a claim

  1. 1

    Confirm your notice

Check whether Autobell notified you that your information was involved. The online form requires the Unique ID and PIN from the notice. If you lack these, contact RG/2 at (877) 979-7115 or AutobellDataSettlement@rg2claims.com. The paper form asks for your Unique ID if known.

  2. 2

    Choose your benefits

Choose either the $45 alternative or reimbursement for documented losses and time. Time is paid at $25 per hour for up to four hours and counts toward the combined $5,000 cap. You may request two years of monitoring with either cash option or by itself.

  3. 3

    Provide proof and sign

Complete contact information and sign the official claim certification. For losses, attach third-party records such as receipts or statements; self-prepared notes alone are insufficient, and already-reimbursed losses cannot be claimed again. For time, describe the tasks and hours and provide the sworn statement required by the form.

  4. 4

    Submit by November 12

Submit online by November 12, 2026, or mail your signed form and supporting records postmarked by that date to Autobell Data Incident Settlement, c/o RG/2 Claims Administration LLC, P.O. Box 59479, Philadelphia, PA 19102-9479. The form also permits emailing an image of the completed form to AutobellDataSettlement@rg2claims.com. No exact cutoff time or timezone is specified.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need receipts for the $45 payment?

The $45 alternative does not require documents proving financial loss. You still need to be a class member, complete the official form and follow its signature instructions. The administrator may verify your claim or request supplemental information.

Can I receive $5,000 plus $100 for time?

No. Documented losses and time share one $5,000 cap. Time reimbursement is limited to four hours at $25 per hour. A documented-loss award cannot exceed the loss proven, and the $45 alternative cannot be added to either reimbursement category.

What does monitoring include?

The two-year benefit includes three-bureau credit-file monitoring, dark-web scanning, public-record and medical-identity monitoring, identity-theft insurance with no deductible, and access to fraud-resolution agents.

When will payment arrive?

No fixed payment date is promised. Payment depends on final court approval, the settlement becoming effective and completion of claim review. The court’s specifically scheduled final approval hearing is November 9, 2026 at 10 a.m.; check the administrator’s website for changes.

What if I do nothing?

You will not receive benefits without a valid timely claim. Unless you timely opted out, you remain bound by the settlement and its release if approved. The notice lists October 13, 2026 as the opt-out and objection deadline.
