Amazon settlements
Amazon has settled three consumer cases we track, and they cover three different groups of people: Prime subscribers who were enrolled or trapped by hard-to-cancel flows, Amazon Flex delivery drivers whose customer tips were withheld, and Ring camera owners whose footage was accessed improperly. Two of the three paid automatically with no claim form, using Amazon's own records. The Prime case is by far the largest at $2.5 billion, though it paid individuals up to $51; the Flex case returned every withheld dollar, averaging $422 per driver.
