The $177 million data breach settlement is a class action over customer data exposed in 2024. The $60 million throttling settlement is a Federal Trade Commission case dating back to a 2014 lawsuit over plans sold as "unlimited" whose speeds were slowed after as little as 2 gigabytes of use; it paid about $52 million automatically in 2020 as bill credits and checks, and made a final distribution in April 2024. Qualifying for one has no bearing on the other.
