Apple settlements

Apple has settled three consumer cases we track, all of them closed to new claims. Two were about hardware that did not work as advertised — iPhones slowed down by battery management, which paid $92.17 per approved claim, and MacBook butterfly keyboards, which paid up to $395 and later issued a second residual payment. The third, over Siri recording conversations without a wake word, paid about $8 per device from a $95 million fund. In every case the money went only to people who filed before the deadline, and by far the most common reason someone got nothing is that they never filed.
