BuyAlerts text settlement: claims due February 16, 2027

Last updated: September 30, 2026

The BuyAlerts settlement offers up to $42.16 per eligible person for certain marketing texts sent January 1, 2022–August 7, 2026 after an opt-out or to a number on the National Do Not Call Registry. Submit a claim online by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on February 16, 2027, or mail it postmarked by that date. The three eligible groups have different conditions, explained below.

The maximum $3.6 million fund also pays approved fees and settlement expenses. Individual payments may decrease proportionally; $42.16 is a ceiling, not a guaranteed payment. BuyAlerts denies wrongdoing, and payment depends on court approval and resolution of any appeals.

Who qualifies

  • All three groups concern January 1, 2022–August 7, 2026. You must satisfy at least one group's conditions; receiving a BuyAlerts message by itself is insufficient.
  • Nationwide TCPA STOP group: people in the United States who were sent more than one BuyAlerts marketing text to their cellphone within any 12-month period after communicating an opt-out by replying STOP or a similar instruction.
  • Florida FTSA STOP group: people in Florida who were sent more than one BuyAlerts marketing text to their cellphone after texting STOP at least 15 days before the later text. This group's definition does not add a 12-month limit.
  • Nationwide TCPA Do Not Call group: people in the United States who were sent more than one BuyAlerts sales text within any 12-month period to a number registered on the National Do Not Call Registry for at least 30 days. The group covers people for whom BuyAlerts says it either lacked prior express written consent or obtained consent in the same manner it claims it obtained the plaintiffs' consent. Ask Kroll to check this condition if you are unsure.
  • The court's exclusions cover the specified judges and staff; BuyAlerts, related entities and their specified personnel; other released parties and immediate families; plaintiffs' counsel, their employees and immediate families; and people who validly opt out. The official notice and order provide the full definitions.

How to file a BuyAlerts settlement claim

  1. 1

Check your notice and phone numbers

Read the class definition and gather the numbers that received qualifying texts. Online filing requires the Unique ID on your notice; the paper form also asks for a Claim ID. Contact Kroll at (323) 237-8770 if you cannot find it or need help checking eligibility.

  2. 2

    Complete and sign one claim

Use the official administrator's online form or downloadable paper form. List your contact information and qualifying phone numbers. Read and sign the certification under penalty of perjury. Frequently asked questions

How much will the BuyAlerts settlement pay?

An approved BuyAlerts claim can receive up to $42.16 per person. Payments may decrease proportionally so that claims and approved expenses fit within the maximum $3.6 million fund. The amount is not paid per text or per qualifying group.

What is the BuyAlerts claim deadline?

Submit a BuyAlerts claim online by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on February 16, 2027, or mail it postmarked by February 16, 2027.

Do all unwanted BuyAlerts texts qualify?

No. The BuyAlerts settlement has separate nationwide STOP, Florida STOP and nationwide Do Not Call groups for January 1, 2022–August 7, 2026. Each requires more than one qualifying text and has additional opt-out, timing or consent conditions. Check the full group definitions or ask Kroll.

Do I need a BuyAlerts notice ID?

The BuyAlerts online form requires the Unique ID sent with your notice. Its paper form includes a Claim ID field. If your ID is missing, contact Kroll at (323) 237-8770 rather than assuming that a paper claim bypasses identification.

What proof does a BuyAlerts claim require?

The BuyAlerts paper form asks for the relevant phone numbers and a signed certification under penalty of perjury. Kroll verifies qualifying texts and may research the claim. The form does not request text screenshots as an attachment, but the claim must still be truthful and verifiable.

Can I claim more than once for several phone numbers?

No. The BuyAlerts settlement permits one claim per person. List all relevant phone numbers on that claim; belonging to more than one eligible group does not multiply the payment.

When will BuyAlerts settlement payments arrive?

No fixed arrival date is confirmed. The BuyAlerts final approval hearing is scheduled for February 1, 2027, and may change. Payments require court approval and final resolution of any appeals; the hearing date is not a payment date.
