Warner Music Group Data Breach Settlement: Eligibility and Claims
Last updated:
Sources last checked:
Warner Music Group has agreed to a $1.25 million settlement over a 2020 data incident affecting payment card information on websites operated by or for its subsidiaries. Eligible U.S. individuals can submit a claim by January 22, 2027; mailed claims must be postmarked by that date.
Approved claims receive a weighted share of the net fund. The official estimates are $50 for nationwide class members and $100 for qualifying California subclass members, but these amounts are not guaranteed. California subclass members receive two shares instead of one, and approved costs reduce the fund available to claimants.
The settlement has preliminary court approval. Final approval and resolution of any appeals are required before benefits are distributed. The official notice provides an online route and a complete paper claim; we could not verify the online portal from our location, so the filing steps below include the paper option.

How to submit a Warner Music Group settlement claim
- 1

Frequently asked questions
Is the $50 or $100 payment guaranteed?
No. These are official estimates. The available net fund and valid claims determine the payment. A California subclass claim receives two shares, while another valid class claim receives one; California does not receive $100 in addition to $50.
What proof or information does the form ask for?
The paper form asks for contact details, a Settlement Claim/Notice ID, a payment election and a signed statement that the information is true and correct to the best of your knowledge. California claimants provide their mailing address from the covered period. The administrator may request supplemental information, so approval is not automatic.
What if I cannot use the online claim portal?
Download the official paper claim from the court-documents page and mail the completed, signed form with a postmark by January 22, 2027. For help or a mailed form, contact info@WMGDataSettlement.com or 1-844-372-1010. Our check did not verify online filing availability.
When will payments arrive?
The final approval hearing is scheduled for January 29, 2027. Benefits depend on final approval and any appeals being resolved or the appeal period expiring. There is no guaranteed payment date. The agreement states that checks are valid for 180 calendar days.
What happens if I do nothing?
You will receive no payment. Unless you validly opt out, you remain bound by the settlement’s release of covered claims. The notice lists November 23, 2026 as the opt-out and objection deadline; those procedures differ from filing a claim.
