Carter Credit Union settlement: claim $50 or documented losses
Last updated: October 1, 2026
The Carter Credit Union settlement offers eligible class members a $50 alternative cash payment or reimbursement of documented losses up to $2,500. Three years of credit monitoring are also available. Submit a claim online or by email by November 19, 2026, or mail it postmarked by that date.
The class covers people whose personal information was compromised in the data incident that began on or about June 25, 2025, subject to the official exclusions. Being a Carter customer alone does not establish eligibility. Carter denies wrongdoing, and benefits depend on claim approval and final settlement approval.

Who qualifies
- Your personally identifiable information was compromised because of Carter's data incident beginning on or about June 25, 2025. Check your settlement notice or ask the administrator to confirm your membership.
- Official exclusions cover Carter-related entities and representatives, including Carter-controlled entities, affiliates, legal representatives, attorneys, successors, heirs and assigns, and the assigned judiciary, their families and staff. The notice also identifies Carter's officers and directors. People who validly opt out cannot receive settlement benefits.
- For loss reimbursement, supply reasonable documentation of unreimbursed expenses fairly traceable to the incident, incurred between June 25, 2025 and November 19, 2026. A statement you write yourself can explain other records but is not sufficient on its own. Do not claim expenses already reimbursed elsewhere.
- The $50 alternative does not require proof or an explanation of financial loss. You must still qualify, complete the claim and sign its truthful certification. Choose either cash option; monitoring can be requested alongside it.

Frequently asked questions
How much can I receive from the Carter Credit Union settlement?
Eligible Carter class members may choose a $50 alternative cash payment or reimbursement of documented, unreimbursed incident-related losses up to $2,500. The two cash options cannot be combined. Benefits require a valid claim and final settlement approval.
Do I need receipts for the Carter $50 payment?
The Carter $50 alternative does not require proof or an explanation of financial loss. It still requires class membership, a complete claim and a signed truthful certification. Documented-loss reimbursement requires supporting records such as receipts or account statements.
What is the Carter Credit Union claim deadline?
Submit a Carter settlement claim online or by email by November 19, 2026. Mailed claims must be postmarked by November 19. The November 30 approval hearing is a separate date.
What if my Carter LoginID or PIN is missing?
Contact Simpluris at (866) 675-2433 or info@CCUDataSettlement.com with your full name and mailing address. Online filing requires the notice credentials. Paper and email filing are also available, but all claims remain subject to eligibility verification and requests for additional information.
Can I claim Carter credit monitoring with a cash payment?
Yes. Carter class members may request three years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete in addition to either cash option, or request monitoring alone. Select monitoring on the form and provide your email address. Follow the administrator's enrollment instructions; filing a cash claim alone does not select monitoring.
Which losses qualify for Carter reimbursement?
The Carter claim form covers documented out-of-pocket losses fairly traceable to the incident, incurred from June 25, 2025 through November 19, 2026. Expenses already reimbursed by another source are excluded. Self-written notes alone are insufficient, although they can explain supporting records.
When will Carter settlement payments arrive?
The Carter final approval hearing is scheduled for November 30, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. Central. Payments follow final approval and resolution of any appeals. No fixed payment arrival date is confirmed; check the official settlement website for updates.
