Americold data breach settlement: claims due October 22
Last updated:
Sources last checked:
Americold settlement members can claim up to $25,000 in qualifying documented losses and/or a residual cash payment currently estimated at $100 for one incident or $200 for both. Three years of credit monitoring is also available if claimed. File online or mail your signed claim postmarked by October 22, 2026.
The settlement covers U.S. people notified by Americold that their private information was impacted in the November 2020 and/or April 2023 data incidents. The $5.25 million fund also pays approved fees, expenses, administration and monitoring. Cash payments are adjustable, and the $100 and $200 figures are estimates.
The court granted final approval on October 6, 2026. The administrator’s older FAQ still describes that hearing as upcoming; the signed court order confirms approval. No payment arrival date is confirmed, and any challenges to approval must be resolved before distribution.

Who qualifies
- You must be a person in the United States whom Americold notified that your private information was impacted in the 2020 Data Incident and/or the 2023 Data Incident. These incidents occurred around November 16, 2020 and April 26, 2023.
- The incidents involved information belonging to current or former employees and job applicants. Employment alone is not the class definition; use your notice or contact Kroll to confirm your membership.
- Excluded are Americold, entities it controls, its officers, directors, legal representatives, successors, subsidiaries and assigns; judicial officers overseeing the case and their immediate families and staff; and people who validly opted out.
- Documented-loss claims must concern unreimbursed out-of-pocket costs related to either incident. Do not claim an expense already reimbursed by another source.
How to claim Americold settlement benefits
- 1
Locate your notice
The paper form asks for your Class Member ID and contact details. Contact Kroll at (833) 930-0248 if you do not know your ID or need help confirming your class membership.
- 2
Select the benefits you want
Choose documented-loss reimbursement, residual cash, or both. You can also select three-year credit monitoring. The administrator determines whether its records identify you as notified of one or both incidents.
- 3
Attach proof for documented losses
List the expense, approximate date, amount and supporting records. Reasonable proof can include phone records, correspondence or receipts. A personal statement alone is insufficient. The residual cash option does not require loss documentation, but you still need a valid claim.

Watch for administrator updates
The court has approved the settlement, but no payment date is guaranteed. Respond to requests for missing information and keep your contact information current. ClaimBee helps you review this and other settlement deadlines.
Final approval and payment timing
The signed October 6 court order takes precedence over the older FAQ’s future-tense hearing description. The claim deadline remains October 22. Final approval alone does not confirm that any appeal period has ended, that the settlement is effective, or that payments have been issued. Follow official distribution updates.

Frequently asked questions
Can I claim documented losses and residual cash together?
Yes. The claim form and executed agreement allow a documented-loss payment and/or a residual cash payment. You may also select credit monitoring. Each benefit is subject to its own requirements and the available fund.
Is every Americold claimant guaranteed $100 or $200?
No. Those are estimates. After approved losses and settlement costs are paid, the remaining money funds residual cash. Members identified as notified of both incidents receive twice the amount for members notified of only one. Actual cash payments are subject to pro rata adjustment.
What proof do I need for an Americold claim?
The paper form asks for your Class Member ID, contact details, benefit selections and a signed, dated attestation. Documented losses require reasonable supporting records and must not already have been reimbursed. No loss documentation is required for residual cash or monitoring, but class membership and a valid claim remain necessary.
What happens if a documented-loss claim is rejected?
The administrator may ask you to correct or support your claim. If the loss claim is rejected and you do not cure it, the agreement treats it as a residual cash claim. Follow the administrator’s instructions; do not assume every submitted loss will be paid.
How does the credit monitoring benefit work?
Eligible members can claim three years of three-bureau credit monitoring, including at least $1 million in identity theft protection services. Enrollment instructions and an activation code will be sent after approval-related challenges are resolved. It must be claimed; it is not automatic for everyone in the class.
How do mailed claims receive payment?
The paper form says mailed claims receive payment by check. To request an electronic payment, use the official online claim process by the deadline. If the online form is unavailable, the official paper form and mailed-postmark route remain published alternatives.
Has the Americold settlement received final approval?
Yes. The signed order in docket 89, filed October 6, 2026, grants final approval. Older homepage and FAQ language about a future hearing has not been updated. Approval does not establish that appeals are resolved or that payments have been sent.
When is the claim deadline?
Submit online or mail a claim postmarked on or before October 22, 2026. The reviewed sources do not state a precise online cutoff time or timezone. No payment arrival date is confirmed.
