How we verify settlements

Consumers who obtained FastBucks loans between 2007 and 2016 may qualify for this New Mexico restitution program. Eligibility depends on program records identifying affected borrowers covered by the case; having any FastBucks loan alone does not guarantee payment. Submit a valid claim online or by mail postmarked by November 24, 2026.

The administrator reports approximately $964,000 in gross recovered funds. Administrative expenses and required adjustments affect the amount available for payments, and no individual amount is promised. Approved payments are expected to begin during April 2027, but the schedule may change.

Before accepting, depositing or cashing a payment, read the official legal-effect warning. Accepting restitution may bar you from recovering damages against the covered defendants or related entities for the same unlawful practices. The notice recommends consulting your own lawyer if you are unsure how acceptance affects your rights.

Who qualifies

  • This is the New Mexico restitution program for consumers affected by the FastBucks practices addressed in the 2016 judgment. The official notice identifies loans obtained between 2007 and 2016.
  • Program records must establish that you were a consumer borrower identified in the loan data provided to the State and adversely affected by the covered business practices. A notice or Claim ID helps identify your records but does not guarantee an award.
  • You may apply without a Claim ID if you believe you qualify, but you must provide the additional loan information requested in the form. The administrator may ask for more information to verify entitlement.
  • An authorized representative may file for a deceased borrower, estate or other represented party and must identify the borrower, relationship and legal authority. Supporting authority documents may be requested.

How to request restitution

  1. 1

Locate your Claim ID or loan information

Use the Claim ID from your notice, if available. Without an ID, provide either your FastBucks loan ID number(s), or both approximate loan dates and the approximate number of loans. Add former names and loan-related addresses if applicable.

  2. 2

Complete the claim and payment selection

Provide current contact information and select check, PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. Digital payment requires the associated phone number or email. If filing for someone else, complete the representative section and be ready to show your authority.

  3. 3

Read the legal warning and sign

Read the notice’s legal-effect warning before deciding whether to accept any payment. Sign and date the claim’s truth-and-accuracy declaration under penalty of perjury. The administrator verifies eligibility and may request additional information; filing does not guarantee payment.

  4. 4

    Submit by November 24

File online by November 24, 2026, or mail the completed signed form to FastBucks NM Restitution Administrator, P.O. Box 709, Baton Rouge, LA 70821, postmarked by November 24. Do not submit both online and by mail for the same claim. No exact time-of-day cutoff was established in the reviewed materials.

Frequently asked questions

How much will I receive?

No fixed amount is promised. The notice says the final distribution methodology may consider loan-level records, net overpayments, valid-claim counts, available net funds and minimum or maximum payment rules. Approximately $964,000 is gross recovered money, not a guaranteed net fund or individual award.

Do I need loan documents or receipts?

Usually no supporting documents are needed if you have an assigned Claim ID, according to the notice. Without one, the form requires a loan ID or approximate loan dates and number of loans, plus applicable former names and addresses. The administrator may request additional proof of identity, entitlement or representative authority. Do not send original loan documents or sensitive information unless requested.

Can I file without receiving a notice?

Yes, if you believe you may qualify. Complete the additional-information section so the administrator can verify your loan records. Applying without a notice does not establish eligibility or guarantee payment.

What happens to my legal rights if I accept payment?

The official notice warns that accepting restitution may bar recovery of damages against the same defendants or covered related entities for the unlawful practices at issue, under NMSA 1978, Section 57-12-9 and the related litigation. The effect can depend on the source of funds, applicable law and your circumstances. Read question 11 of the notice before accepting, depositing or cashing payment, and consult your own lawyer if you need advice. Filing a form and accepting money are distinct actions.

What if I do nothing?

You will not receive a restitution payment. The notice says doing nothing does not by itself cause you to accept restitution or release legal rights you may otherwise have.

Is there a fee to claim?

No. There is no fee to file or receive a payment. The administrator says it will not ask you to pay money to release an award.

When will payments arrive?

Approved payments are expected to begin during April 2027 after claim review and required processing. This is an estimate that may change. Keep your contact and payment information current.

Who can answer questions about my claim?

Contact the restitution administrator at 1-844-982-4466 or info@FastBucksNMRestitution.com. The notice directs claim-status questions to the administrator rather than the court, the New Mexico Department of Justice or the defendants.
