Dartmouth College Data Breach Settlement: Claims Due October 21, 2026
Last updated:
Sources last checked:
Eligible Dartmouth data-incident notice recipients can claim documented losses up to $5,000, a separate pro rata cash payment estimated at $75, and two years of one-bureau credit monitoring. Cash Payment A and Cash Payment B can be claimed together; the $75 estimate is not guaranteed. Claims are due online by October 21, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, or by mail postmarked October 21.
The $750,000 common fund also pays administration, court-approved legal fees and costs, service awards, and monitoring. Cash Payment B comes from the amount remaining after those expenses and valid loss claims, so it may increase or decrease. This settlement resolves claims against Trustees of Dartmouth College in the Oracle litigation; it does not cover every Oracle customer.

Who qualifies
- You are a living individual residing in the United States who was sent notice by Dartmouth that your private information may have been impacted in the Oracle EBS data incident. The official materials identify the incident notice Dartmouth sent in November 2025. Attendance, employment or another connection to Dartmouth alone does not establish eligibility.
- The class excludes Dartmouth’s directors, officers, members and agents, those of its subsidiaries and affiliates, entities in which Dartmouth has a controlling interest, governmental entities, the assigned judge and immediate family and court staff, people found criminally guilty of causing or assisting the incident or pleading nolo contendere to such a charge, and people who timely and validly opted out.
- Loss reimbursement requires reasonable documentation connecting the out-of-pocket expense to this incident. Expenses already reimbursed by another source cannot be claimed again. Personal certifications, declarations or affidavits alone are insufficient, although they can explain other supporting documents.
How to submit a Dartmouth data settlement claim
- 1
Locate your notice or request help
Online filing requires the Unique ID and PIN from your settlement email or postcard. If your notice is missing, call the administrator at 1-877-357-7730 for assistance. The official login page also permits a mailed paper claim when you did not receive a settlement notice; you must still meet the class definition.

Keep your confirmation and contact details
Save your online confirmation code and respond to any administrator request for missing information. Update your mailing or email address if it changes. If a loss claim is rejected or unsupported, a Cash Payment B award is available only if you also submitted a timely valid claim for B. Benefits follow final approval and finality; no payment arrival date is promised. ClaimBee is an independent reference, not the administrator.

Frequently asked questions
Can I receive both cash benefits?
Yes. The agreement and current claim form allow Cash Payment A for documented losses and Cash Payment B for a separate pro rata cash payment, plus optional monitoring. You must request each benefit you want. Payment B is estimated at $75 and may increase or decrease..
What documents support a loss claim?
Reasonable evidence may include telephone records, correspondence, emails, receipts or account statements showing an expense related to this incident. The paper form asks for the expense type, amount, date, and an explanation of the supporting documents. You certify that the money spent does not relate to another data incident. You cannot recover an expense already reimbursed elsewhere; a personal declaration alone is insufficient.
Does the mailed form have to arrive by October 21?
Agreement paragraph 90, the current paper form, homepage and FAQ 11 specify an October 21, 2026 postmark deadline. The login page has a conflicting generic sentence saying received by that date. This guide follows the agreement and current form. For a mailing near the deadline, obtain a dated postal postmark and keep proof; contact the administrator if you need clarification. Online filing has the separately stated 11:59 p.m. Central Time cutoff.
Is credit monitoring automatic?
No. Select the monitoring option on a timely valid claim and provide your email address. The administrator will send activation instructions and a code after the settlement becomes final. The product includes one-bureau credit monitoring, dark-web monitoring, and the protection and assistance benefits described in the official form.
Will this affect other Oracle settlements?
The official notice says that remaining in or opting out of this Dartmouth settlement does not affect rights or the ability to participate in a future settlement with a non-settling defendant. Review the settlement release for the specific claims resolved against Dartmouth and its released parties.
When will the settlement pay?
The final approval hearing is scheduled for November 5, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Central Time, subject to court changes. Benefits are distributed after approval and finality. The hearing date is not a payment date, and the $75 amount is an estimate based on available funds and valid claims.
