State Farm Louisiana Settlement: File by October 19

Last updated: October 18, 2026

The State Farm Louisiana total-loss fees settlement provides $28.39 to eligible class members who file a valid claim, subject to proportional reduction if approved claims exceed the $840,000 payment fund. File online by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on October 19, 2026, or mail a claim postmarked by October 19. The class covers qualifying Louisiana auto-insurance claims submitted from May 17, 2022 through May 21, 2026 that resulted in total-loss payments without purchasing fees.

The court granted final approval in September 2026. This does not make payment automatic: you must submit a valid signed claim. State Farm denies wrongdoing. Approved fees, administration and the representative award are paid separately from the class payment fund.

Who qualifies

  • You were a Louisiana policyholder or insured under an applicable State Farm policy and submitted a covered first-party private passenger auto physical-damage claim from May 17, 2022 through May 21, 2026. The claim must have resulted in a total-loss payment that omitted full purchasing fees. Owned or leased vehicles may qualify; being a policyholder alone is insufficient.
  • Purchasing fees include sales tax, title and transfer-handling fees, notary fees, registration and license-plate transfer fees, and tag fees. The agreement’s State Farm definition includes State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company and State Farm Fire and Casualty Company and specified related entities.
  • Excluded are State Farm and its agents, employees, related entities and present or former officers and directors; the administrator, mediator, class counsel, judge and court staff or employees; and people who validly opted out.
  • Claims covered by an executed release are excluded. First-party property-damage claims with individual appraisal, arbitration or litigation already initiated or completed when the agreement was filed on January 23, 2026 are also excluded. A claim cannot recover purchasing fees already paid.
  • People absent from the notice list who do not submit a valid claim are excluded. If you did not receive a notice but believe you qualify, ask the administrator to verify your status; do not assume that every Louisiana total-loss claim is covered.

How to file a State Farm Louisiana settlement claim

  1. 1

    Check the qualifying insurance claim

Find your notice and insurance records. Confirm the Louisiana policy, class dates, covered private passenger claim and missing purchasing fees. Review the release, appraisal, arbitration and litigation exclusions before signing.

  2. 2

Complete and sign the official form

Use the prefilled form from your notice or the blank paper form linked below. Provide your contact details and Class Member ID if known, select the payment request, and sign and date the oath. You must truthfully confirm entitlement and that full purchasing fees were not previously received. A legally authorized representative must supply the required authority documents for a deceased or incapacitated member.

  3. 3

    Submit by October 19

Mail both completed pages postmarked by October 19, 2026 to Deborah Robin v. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co., c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 5324, New York, NY 10150-5324. Official instructions also allow online filing by 11:59 p.m. Central Time that day. The online portal was blocked by a browser verification check during our review; the paper route was verified. Call 833-319-9292 if you need help.

Frequently asked questions

How much is the State Farm Louisiana settlement payment?

The agreement provides $28.39 to each eligible class member who files a valid timely claim. Payments are reduced proportionally if eligible claims exceed the $840,000 class payment fund. Do not treat $28.39 as guaranteed or multiply it by every vehicle. Fees, administration and the representative award are paid separately.

Who qualifies for the Louisiana total-loss fees settlement?

Qualifying Louisiana policyholders and insureds submitted a covered first-party private passenger auto physical-damage claim from May 17, 2022 through May 21, 2026 that resulted in a total-loss payment without full purchasing fees. The class has exclusions for releases, certain individual disputes, opt-outs and specified related parties. Ask the administrator to confirm uncertain eligibility.

What is the State Farm Louisiana claim deadline?

File online by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on October 19, 2026, or mail the signed claim with a postmark no later than October 19. Keep your filing record. Do not confuse the September final approval hearing with the claim deadline.

Do I need a Class Member ID or receipts?

The paper form asks for a Class Member ID if known. Official online instructions allow a Claimant ID or your last name plus policy or claim number, although we could not independently verify the live portal beyond its browser check. Routine purchase receipts are not required by the reviewed form, but you must supply accurate identifying information and sign the oath; the administrator can request corrections or additional information.

Can I file a paper form if the website does not open?

Yes. The official blank paper form and mail route were verified. Complete both pages, sign and date the declaration, and mail them to Kroll at P.O. Box 5324, New York, NY 10150-5324 with an October 19, 2026 or earlier postmark. Use the full settlement name shown on the form and contact 833-319-9292 for assistance.

Can someone file for a deceased or incapacitated class member?

A legally authorized personal representative, guardian or trustee may sign when the required authority exists. The form requires supporting authority documents for deceased or incapacitated members. Simply helping someone complete a form does not give you authority to swear to the claim or sign for them.

Is payment automatic, and when will checks arrive?

Payment is not automatic: you must file a valid timely claim. The court granted final approval in September 2026, but effectiveness, any appeals and claim validation still matter. The agreement provides for checks within 90 days after the effective date; no exact arrival date or absence of appeals has been verified.
